Foreign Language Enrichment Guidelines
Welcome to Portsmouth Enrichment Inc. PMS Enrichment! The following guidelines are provided to ensure that an enjoyable, rewarding, and safe classroom environment is established and the program runs smoothly.
- Children may bring a quick, healthy snack (fruit, veggies, yogurt, crackers etc.) and a water bottle to enjoy before afternoon classes.
- If your child will not be attending class on a particular day, please contact the school office at 849-3700. It is okay to leave a message on the answering machine.
- Please remind your child that they are coming to class to learn and have fun! They are expected to be respectful to the instructor, fellow students, and classroom materials. Behavioral problems may result in your child’s dismissal from the program.
Arrival/Dismissal/Transportation
AM Classes
- Classes begin promptly at 7:00 AM
- You must provide transportation to school
- Students will be dismissed directly to their homeroom.
PM Classes
- Your child will be dismissed directly to enrichment class from their home room.
- Enrichment classes end at 3:30 PM. You must provide transportation home from school. Please respect the instructor and classroom assistant and pick up your child on time. Please indicate on your release form if you would like to have your child take the late bus if it is available (The late bus does not come every week on every day and the schedule may be amended ) please check the PMS late bus schedule.
- Students will not be allowed to depart with an individual that is not on their release list. If you wish to add an individual to your child’s release list after submitting initial information, please send a note to school.
Early Release/school cancellation/inclement weather
- If school is released early or cancelled, Enrichment class will be cancelled.
- Enrichment class may be cancelled after school because of inclement weather. Please check with the front office at 849-3700.
If a parent/guardian is late to pick up the child, the following steps will be taken
(We hope this will never be necessary):
- At 3:45 PM (15 minutes after scheduled dismissal) the parent/guardian will be charged a fee of $10.00.
- At 4:00 PM (30 minutes after scheduled dismissal), the parent/guardian will be charged an additional fee of $10.00, for a total of $20.00. If someone can not be reached and no one has come for the child, the classroom assistant or instructor will drive the child to the Portsmouth Police Station. The child will remain at the police station until picked up by a parent or designated adult.
